Foundation Learning

We are delighted to have recently secured a 3 year foundation learning contract in partnership with Melton College, beginning September 2011.

The foundation learning programme is a 20 week course open to young people aged 16 – 18 and aims to build young peoples knowledge, skills and confidence to enable them to progress onto further education, training or employment.

In addition to the ABC level 1 in Motor Vehicle Studies, learners will have an opportunity to improve their literacy and numeracy skills and gain an Open College Network Step Up Award.

Learners who successfully complete the course can also obtain their provisional driving licence and motorcycle Compulsory Basic Training FREE OF CHARGE!!

We will be working closely with Melton College and learners will also visit the automotive and land based engineering departments at Melton/Brooksby College to gain an understanding of the courses on offer.

Our Foundation Learning programme offers an excellent opportunity for young people who are interested in a career in the automotive industry. The qualifications gained, work experience and increased confidence will ensure that young people are ready and able to progress into college or employment. By offering a free provisional licence and CBT, we hope to inspire learners to complete the process of getting on the road, increase their independence and have a means of transport to get to college or work!
